B• Benjamin A. Goff, Executive Vice President: Ben’s primary roles relate to contract negotiation, plan design, and helping you create a long-term strategy for your benefits offering. He also makes sure that your vendors are performing as expected. Ben stays up to date with reform and compliance requirements to help you run a clean plan.

Ben has almost 30 years of experience in Employee Benefits. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Insurance and Risk Management. In 1986 he co-founded Great Lakes Risk Management, which grew to become the largest benefits-only firm in the greater Toledo area, prior to selling to Brown & Brown in 2008. Ben has served as an advisor to health insurers, governmental agencies, Brown & Brown on a corporate level, and to various members of the media. Ben holds his Ohio Life and Health licenses.


J3• James Raymond Bailey, MBA and Account Executive: James graduated from BGSU in December, 2014. He has an MBA with a Finance concentration. His undergraduate work was completed at Nottingham Trent University in England, his home country. James has completed a two-year training with Brown & Brown and is now charged with building new relationships and helping employers run and manage their employee benefit plans. He works alongside Ben and Angela in developing strategies and guidance for our clients.

James has served in a variety of past roles that have equipped him for a future in employee benefits. He served as a Human Resources Administrator intern at the Schaeffler Group in Sheffield, UK, as Senior Marketing Account Executive at Countrywide Publications, UK, and as the Administration Co-Coordinator at Community Training Initiatives in Melbourne, Australia. Most recently, he was a Graduate Research Assistant at BGSU, then an intern here at Brown & Brown of Ohio before joining the team full-time. James holds his Ohio Life and Health licenses and has earned his Certificate of Global Benefits Management from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.


A2Angela Krueger, Benefits Department Manager: Angela is responsible for the overall operations of the team, but she also takes on a variety of other roles for our clients. Once a renewal decision has been made, she is responsible for all contracting and team actions, including development of education pieces, collecting employee enrollment information, and submission to the insurers. If a teammate has difficulty working with a vendor on a specific issue, Angela will step in to help get the problem resolved. Additionally, Angela has taken on the role of Team Resources leader in our office, handling recruitment, teammate development, other HR-related functions for the agency.

Angela graduated from BGSU in 2004, with a degree in Middle Childhood Education. She also took coursework in Visual Communication Technology. Coming from a third-generation business owning family, she found herself returning to the business world when she began working for Great Lakes Risk Management in 2005. Since then, Angela has worked in every position in our department, other than direct sales, and has developed the skills necessary to lead the team. She has also been invited to speak at various events, including regional benefits conferences and BGSU College of Business Administration events. Angela holds her Ohio Life and Health licenses.


P• Pam Simrell, CCWS, Client Services Leader: Pam leads two areas in our practice: Client Services and Wellness.  She oversees the rest of the service team as they respond to your inquiries.  Her specializations are Member Advocacy and Wellness programs.   When your plan participants run into problems or simply have questions about their plan, Pam, along with the rest of the team, is available to help them navigate their plan, as well as the health care system at large.  Not only does she answer questions; Pam also helps get claims reprocessed, helps file appeals, and identifies trends and issues which may affect the client as a whole.  Additionally, she is a certified Wellness Specialist and works with our clients to engage in full service wellness programs.   Pam holds her Ohio Life and Health licenses.

Pam has over 15 years of experience in the employee benefits arena, and worked in the medical field for many years before that as an Assistant Office Manager for a large physician practice in West Toledo.  She also has experience in medical records and hospital billing, giving her a fantastic knowledge base upon which to draw from when helping members with their claims issues. 


D5Damien Neill, Financial Analyst: Damien works with your numbers, both from a renewal and reporting standpoint. In addition to sending out RFPs, creating your Annual Coverage Review documents, and running your reports and plan analysis, he also is the expert on Variable Hour Employee Tracking, 6055 and 6056 reporting, PCORI fees, and other reporting related to the Affordable Care Act.

Damien graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Marketing and Supply Chain Management. While a student, he was the President of FalcoLytics, a marketing research organization that provided statistical analysis to staff and students at BGSU. Now, in addition to holding his Ohio Health and Life Insurance licenses, he is taking coursework to become a certified Actuary. Once he completes his coursework and exams, we will be able to offer on-site actuarial calculations and certificates for your employee benefit plans.


A. Norrod2• Alyssa Norrod:, Service Coordinator & Member Advocate: Alyssa was initially hired as an assistant in the Member Services Department, helping Pam work with member-related issues. However, with her outstanding customer service skills, follow up, and accuracy, she now serves as a Service Coordinator role for a dedicated group of clients, with a specialization in Member Services.  If at any time you are unsure of who to contact at Brown & Brown, you may send your inquiries to her. Even if Alyssa is not the best person to address your concern, she will take responsibility of the action and work with our team to track it through to completion.  

Alyssa began her career with Brown & Brown in 2015, after spending several years in retail management. She graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Sports Communications. While in college, she was an active member with PRSSA, ImPRessions (student-run PR firm), and Alpha Omicron Pi. Alyssa served as Vice President of Communications for her sorority, where she managed community outreach events and assisted her chapter with new membership goals. Alyssa holds her Ohio Life and Health licenses.


Becky• Becky Turnow, SHRM-CP, Service Coordinator & Human Resources Specialist: Becky worked in Operations and Human Resources for nearly ten years prior to joining the Brown & Brown team.  She serves as a Service Coordinator for a dedicated group of clients, as well as a specialist in Human Resources-related regulations and issues. Over the years, we have found a wide gap in the Human Resources skills at our various clients.  Some have sophisticated HR departments, with several people supporting an HR Director.  At other clients, an Office Manager, Owner, or Payroll Specialist has been given HR and benefit related duties, sometimes with little or no training.  Becky will go onsite to help get your admin team trained in processes, procedures, and rules surrounding their employee benefit plan.

Becky graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2008 with a degree in Interpersonal Communication.  She earned her SHRM designation in July 2016 and is a member of both the Northwest Ohio Human Resources Association and the professional business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi. Becky also holds her Ohio Life and Health licenses.


A3Amy Musial, Client Support Specialist: Amy’s primary functions are to help with the day to day running of your plan. If you choose to handle all of your own enrollment and eligibility processing, Amy is available to help you with questions on qualified events, or to assist with billing corrections. If you choose to have us help you with these items, Amy will be the person working hand-in-hand with your administrative team to get people on and off your plans.

Amy began working for Great Lakes Risk Management in 2005. After a brief hiatus when Great Lakes Risk Management was sold to Brown & Brown, she returned again in 2009. Amy almost ten years of experience with enrollment and eligibility. She also holds her Ohio Life and Health licenses.


ericnash2• Eric Nash, Marketing Specialist: Eric joined the team as an intern from Bowling Green State University and has since joined the team as a Marketing Specialist, working side-by-side with Damien, James and Ben.  Eric is extremely skilled in analytics and takes the lead on all reporting needs here in the office.

Eric graduated in May, 2017, with a degree in Business Administration and a specialization in Supply Chain Management and Applied Economics.  He was consistently been on the Dean’s List, a member of the National Honors Society, and has participated in the BGSU Economics Club, Falcon Fanatics, and Dance for a Chance charity. Eric now also holds his Ohio Life and Health licenses.


Keia• Keia McCarver, Benefit Team Assistant: Keia is a recent addition to the Brown & Brown Benefits Team.  With her exceptional attention to detail and background in Human Resources, she is a natural fit to assist the rest of the team with enrollments, inquiry resolution, and policy review. 

Keia was awarded a degree in Business Management with an HR focus from Bowling Green State University in 2016.  Since then, she has been a recruiting specialist for large companies and recently decided to branch out into employee benefits. Keia also holds her Ohio Life and Health licenses.
