Heather McAlees, CISR

Personal Lines Account Manager

In 2011, Heather joined our Personal Lines Team as an Account Manager. Heather is responsible for helping customers find affordable coverage without sacrificing limits and making sure they understand the coverages in their policies. In the event of a claim, Heather acts as a liaison on behalf of the customer during the claims process. With over 10 years of experience, Heather’s passion has been to build strong relationships with our customers, allowing her to build a level of comfort and trust, so when the worst happens, our customers know we will get them through it.

Before joining the Brown & Brown of Ohio Personal Lines Team, Heather worked in the pharmacy and health services industry. Heather has also earned her Bachelor’s in Business Management from the University of Findlay.

Outside the office, Heather and her husband have a shared passion for cars.

Eric Nash

Employee Benefits Technology Lead

As our Employee Benefit Technology Specialist, Eric designs and manages the benefits administration systems that we provide to many of our clients. He is also responsible for creating unique employee engagement websites and insurance database portals for our clients, managing both the available content and the analytics that come from these portals. In his time here, he has also consulted on a number of Brown & Brown’s National EB Tech Team projects.

Eric has a strong background in both IT and analytics. Graduating from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor’s in Supply Chain and Economics, Eric started his career working for both a programming company designing software and as an IT generalist for a local staffing firm. When Eric started with Brown & Brown of Ohio, he primarily focused on managing our RFP process and the analytics that goes into our quote comparison.

Out of the office, Eric enjoys playing strategy games. His ability to think multiple moves ahead and anticipate what his other players will do gives a small glimpse into his analytical thought processes.

Amy Musial

Employee Benefits Sr. Enrollment Specialist

As a Sr. Enrollment Specialist, Amy helps our customers with member enrollments and terminations, billing issues, proper documentation for qualified events and much more. In this role, she is integral to keeping our team informed of real time trends that are happening within our clients’ demographics. This allows us to inform employers of potential issues before they affect their plans.

Shortly after earning her General Business Degree from Northwest State Community College, Amy worked as an Operational Specialist designing and distributing operating procedure manuals. Then in 2005, she brought these procedural skills to Great Lakes Risk Management and was a part of the acquisitional transition into Brown & Brown of Ohio.

Outside the office, Amy’s favorite vacations are cruises and camping with her husband.

Damien Neill

Employee Benefits Financial Analytics Lead

Damien’s primary responsibilities are to work with our customer’s data from both the contract marketing process and a reporting standpoint. In addition to handling RFPs and negotiating with our carriers, throughout the year Damien works with real-time data, trends, and benchmarks that bring awareness to a plan’s operations and financial performance. This data is also used to develop educational topics and other actionable items to help make a positive impact on a benefit plan’s performance. Beyond this, Damien has assisted with reporting projects at the regional Brown & Brown level.

After earning his Bachelor’s in Marketing and Supply Chain from Bowling Green State University, Damien joined the Brown & Brown of Ohio Employee Benefits team in 2012 as our Financial Analyst. Since then, he has become a specialist in Variable Hour Employee Tracking, 6055 and 6056 reporting and numerous reporting methods related to the Affordable Care Act and other regulatory state and federal acts. Damien is currently pursuing his Actuary certification.

Outside the office, Damien is a board game enthusiast to the point of designing his own. His ability to understand a rule set and then work inside of and manipulate it for a greater experience can be seen in his daily life.

Kari Oneal, MBA

Employee Benefits Client Service Coordinator / Team Resources Generalist

As an Employee Benefits Client Service Coordinator, Kari’s responsibilities are to service and handle the questions relating to benefits plans of our customer’s employees. When issues arise, Kari serves as a liaison between the employee, carrier and often the healthcare provider to ensure the situation is handled properly. Additionally, as our Team Resources Generalist she is responsible for day-to-day human resources operations of the office. This includes the administration of policies and procedures as well as teammate learning and development.

Kari graduated from The University of Findlay with her Master’s in Human Resource Management. She has more than seven years of experience in human resources, including recruiting and new hire onboarding, benefit administration, and day-to-day employee relations.

At home, Kari enjoys creative projects, particularly scrapbooking and interior design projects.

Blayne Robbins

Commercial Risk Advisor

As one of our Commercial Risk Advisors, Blayne is primarily responsible for helping his clients manage their risks to protect their assets. Above all else, Blayne ensures that his customers understand the contracts they are signing and how the insurance carriers view their business especially how their policies will respond in claim scenarios. Upon joining our Commercial Lines Team, Blayne participated in an intensive year-long training program learning techniques to better balance coverages and costs, and how to properly examine a policy for gaps with a fine-tooth comb focus.

Prior to joining the Brown & Brown of Ohio team, Blayne earned his Bachelor's in Marketing from Defiance College. Blayne began his insurance career with another agency focusing on both commercial and personal insurance sales and services.

Outside the office, Blayne splits his free time between training service dogs for Canine Companions for Independence and studying Ju Jitsu.
