Risk Assessment

Before we start quoting any policies, our Personal Insurance Advisors strive to capture a 360-degree view of the risks that affect you. The first part of this would be to review your current contracts and policies. By gathering these, we gain a higher understanding of what your current relationship is with your risks.

The next step is to have a discussion about you and your lifestyle. More often than not, we find that our new customers only had the bare minimum or were not properly covered to begin with. By having this discussion, it not only allows us to identify potential discounts and savings but also, more importantly, any gaps in your current coverages. Here are some common gaps we see that you may want to consider:

  • If you have a finished basement, your limit of water backup might be too low to cover the contents of your basement fully.
  • Is your roof covered by Actual Cash Value (ACV) or Replacement Cost? ACV only covers the depreciated cost of your roof, whereas Replacement Cost pays for the amount needed to completely repair or replace your roof.
  • “Scheduling” or identifying specific valuables under your home policy could more often than not offer those items broader coverage.

After identifying all potential risks and any special coverages you may need, our team now has a stronger approach when it comes time to gather quotes. By telling your full story to the insurance carriers, we can gather the best quotes for what you need.

Policy Management

Once you decide to make Brown & Brown a part of your family, at least once a year, we provide a full risk analysis to identify any changes in your life. By doing this, we are able to provide you with policy updates that align with you and your family’s growth and changes over the past year.

If you have no major changes in your life, but during renewal we find that the insurance carrier has increased your rates, we will fully review with you to assist you in understanding why this happened. Simultaneously, we will work with that carrier to find alternative options. Then, if those alternatives do not work for you, we can simply find options with our other insurance carrier partners to find the best solution for you.

With Brown & Brown of Ohio, when you have a claim, we understand that it can be a difficult time in your life. Therefore, reporting a claim is easy, as it should be. You are able to file a claim online or over the phone 24/7, 365 days a year. And to take it a step further, your Brown & Brown trusted advisor is available to assist you along the way.

After your claim is filed, the insurance carrier your policy is with will assign a specific claims representative dedicated to you. These representatives are insurance professionals who have received the most extensive training in the industry when it comes to claims. They have a vast knowledge of insurance and are able to explain coverages and apply them to your loss. With your claims representative and your Brown & Brown advisor working for you, your claim will be settled in no time.
